Bernice Ida Koch, age 99, died Mar. 5, 2014 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. She was born Mar 16, 1914 at Alden, Ks, the daughter of Claud E. and Emma Louise (Reiser) Parker. A life-long resident of Barton and Rice Counties, she was a retired secretary and agent with Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. as well as a homemaker.  On Mar. 10, 1935 she married Harry Koch at Alden, he preceded her in death.  Her memberships include First Baptist Church, Women’s Ministries and KAPCIC all of Ellinwood.  She graduated from Alden High School in 1932.  Survivors include two sons, Marvin Koch, Ellinwood and Ron Koch, Great Bend; three daughters, Barbara Hoar (Bart), Great Bend, Gloria Roberts (Richard), Hutchinson, Twila Bartels (Tom), Olathe, Ks; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred Koch; a brother F.R. Parker; sisters Opal Koch and Irene Dannebohm. Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Saturday, Mar 8, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Ellinwood with Pastor David Wesner presiding. Burial will follow in the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm Fri Mar. 7, 2014 with family present from 7-9 pm at the Chapel. Memorial may be given to the church in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246 Ellinwood, Ks 67526.
