Charles Lee Black

Charles Lee Black, 88, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on September 17th, 2017. Born in Auburn, KS on May 7th, 1929 he was the son of Charles W. & Verna J.(Taylor) Black.

  A 1947 graduate of Highland Park HS in Topeka, he was a long time resident of Topeka and an Ellinwood resident since 1975. Mr. Black worked as a shopkeeper and a cook during his time in Topeka and later worked for Starr Antiques in Ellinwood. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ellinwood.

He is survived by a sister, Barbara Black and was preceded in death by a sister Lucile Warren.

A graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, September 26th at Lakin - Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood with Rev. Tom Thierfelder officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Heritage Club in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
