Winifred Leila (Crawford) Healzer

Winifred Leila (Crawford) Healzer, 99, passed away at Cherry Village Assisted Living in Great Bend, KS. She was born on September 24, 1917 in St. John, KS to Samuel Croizer and Rose Caroline (Ellerman) Crawford. Mrs. Healzer was an Ellinwood resident since 1953 formerly of Seward, McCracken, Alexander, Otis, & Kansas City. Winifred married Roy Adam Healzer on May 26, 1934 in LaCrosse, KS. He passed away March 10, 1971. She was a loving mother and homemaker who also spent time working at Healzer Grocery in Alexander, KS. Mrs. Healzer was a member of the Immanual United Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Byron L. Healzer, Lake St. Louis, MO; daughters, Leila M. Griffitt, Hoisington, KS and Karen R. Post, Great Bend, KS; and 48 loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Healzer; grandson, Roger Richter, granddaughter, Carla Boese and great grandson, Chad Roberson.

Funeral service will be Friday November 18^th 1:00 pm at Immanual United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Belle Prairie Cemetery south of Alexander. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood on Thursday November 17.
