Virginia Lee Sieker, 95, passed away in Sterling, KS on October 8th, 2024.
She was born in Great Bend, KS on August 16, 1929, the daughter of
Clarence & Elda (Frevert) Binger. Virginia graduated from Ellinwood HS in
1947, and later attended business college in Hutchinson, KS. She married George Sieker October 24,1948 in Ellinwood, he passed away in 2007. She grew up near Silica and in Ellinwood. After marrying George, they moved to a farm west of Chase. Virginia attended St. John’s Lutheran Church and was active in the Altar Guild, choir, and a former Sunday school teacher. She was also active in the Ellinwood Historical Society. Virginia loved playing cards with local card clubs in Chase and Ellinwood. Survivors include children, Ronald (Barbara) Sieker, Dodge City, KS, Richard (Patty) Sieker, Hays, KS, Robert Sieker (Carol), Chase, KS,Carolyn (Tim) Davies, Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Michelle Adams, Audrey Rynerson, Brian Sieker, Kurt Sieker, Emily Poole; great-grandchildren, Parker Rynerson, Noah Adams, Ella Adams, Carter Rynerson, Hollis Sieker, Brynley Rynerson, Bowen Sieker, Ellyott Sieker, Landry Sieker, and Collyns Sieker. Virginia was preceded in death by parents and husband, George Sieker; daughter, Cheryl Ann Sieker; and granddaughter, Melody Poole.
Funeral Service will take place 10:30 AM, Thurs., Oct. 17th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood, KS with Rev. Kenton Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation will take place Wed., Oct. 16th at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, from 1-7 PM with family receiving friends from 5-7 PM. Memorials are
suggested to St. John Church Altar Guild or Ellinwood Hospital Foundation in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526. Condolences may be left at www.minnischapel.org
