Verlin Clint Parson

Lyons, KS

Verlin Clint (V.C) Parson, 97, passed away at Rice County Memorial Hospital in Lyons, KS on September 19, 2015. He was born to Almon J. & Cora (Belvele) Parson on October 3^rd, 1917 in Hunter, KS. Originally from Kansas, he moved to South Dakota where he worked as a farmer until his retirement in 1976.  He then settled down in Lyons, KS. He married Ileen Yarnell on July 18 1940 and had 6 children Rhonda being the youngest. He later married Josephine Mutchler she died January 18, 1993. He raised her daughter Shirley Ann GaryEagle until she was of age and also took care of her daughter Mary Jo Mutchler. 

Survivors include his children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Great-grandchildren with namesake are Talon Clint, Joseph Boyd-Scott, Veo Clint GrayEagle, Apple of his eye SaraAnn Josie Starr Scott. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie; brothers, Lloyd, Clifford,  JR and Ray Parson; and sisters, Violet Wallert and Loretha McMullen-Leiker. 

Graveside service is planned for October 3^rd at Lyons Municipal Cemetery in Lyons, KS at 1:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to Donor’s Choice in care of Minnis Chapel, 113 N. Main St., PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526. Condolences may be left online at www.minnischapel.org.  Upon conclusion of the service everyone is invited to VC's house for light snacks and gathering at 305 S. Purdy, Lyons, KS.
