Stephen Thomas Flakus, 64, passed away in Ellinwood, KS on June 4th, 2015. He was born in Great Bend, KS on January 14, 1951 to Joseph A. and Rosemary (Hines) Flakus. Stephen was a 1969 Ellinwood High School graduate that later went on to receive his Masters degree from Kansas University. A resident of Ellinwood since 1994 he was the owner & operator of a computer web business called "Postrock". He previously worked at the Great Bend Tribune as well as newspapers in Dallas & Houston.
He is survived by sisters Virginia Shults, Webster, NY, Mary Ann Spangler, Scott City, KS, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 am on Thursday June 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. The Altar Society will pray Rosary at 7 pm on Wenesday June 17 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood.
