Patricia "Pat" (Healzer) Thorson

Ellinwood, KS

  Patricia “Pat” Thorson, 96, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood, KS on October 6, 2018. Born in Great Bend, KS on February 28, 1922 she was the daughter of Walter & Hazel (Clark) Healzer. She married Clarence Thorson on November 29, 1952. He passed away on June 1st, 1994. A lifetime area resident of Barton County “Pat” worked at Fashion Corner in Ellinwood, & Conrad’s in Great Bend. Mrs. Thorson was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Ellinwood. 

Survivors include 4 sons & 1 daughter, Greg Thorson from Great Bend; Jim Thorson, John Thorson, Patty & husband Rick Kirkpatrick of Ellinwood; Jeff & wife Dori Thorson of Omaha, Nebraska. Four grandchildren. Andy (Jennifer) Kirkpatrick, Ashley(Derek) Ohl , T.J. (Jess) LaRocca, & Lindsey (A.J.)Campbell, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Zahn & Miriam McCord. 

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood with Rev. Kenton Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9th from 3-8 PM with family present from 6-8 PM at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Woodhaven Care Center or St. John Lutheran Church in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
