Mary Ethel (Thornton) Osburn, 85, passed away in Great Bend, KS on November 28th, 2020. Born in Kinsley, KS on Mar. 16th, 1935 she was the daughter of George & Elsie (Miller) Thornton. A Kinsley resident for 56 years she married Jessie Carl Osburn July 31st, 1953 in Wichita, KS. Mary was the owner and operator of a restaurant in Kinsley. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend and its organization "Women of Valor".
Survivors include son, Jerry Osburn; daughters, Annie Peterson and Becky Ingvalson as well as dozens and dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie and a granddaughter, Kayla Winder Osburn.
A private family interment will take place at a later date at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS There will be a family visitation on Sun., Nov. 29th from 2-5 PM at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, KS. Memorials are suggested to "Women of Valor" in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
