Mary L. (Barel) Cooper

Mary L Cooper, 86, died July 23rd, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Home in Lyons. She was born on March 11, 1934, east of Bunker Hill, the daughter of Godfrey and Grace (Hoch) Baral. She attended country school in the Bunker Hill area.

Mary was united in marriage to Wayne Cooper on April 27, 1972 in Lincoln, Kansas. This union was blessed with a daughter Nancy. They made their home on a farm in the Lucas are until moving to Ellinwood in May of 2015.

Surviving family includes daughter Nancy and husband Kris, grandchildren Bailey & Kaden Baird all of Ellinwood. Sister Betty Brozek and husband Richard of Lucas.

Mary enjoyed cooking and was well known for her delicious cookies and homemade breads. She found so much joy in sharing her homemade treats with others. Mary also loved having family around and visiting with her neighbors.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 30,  at 11:00 AM at the Lucas Cemetery-grave side only. No visitation is being held. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood Hospital Foundation or St. John CDC in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
