Mae M. (Bennett) Sanders

Mae Malissia Sanders, 86, passed away at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington on January 6th, 2016. She was born in Alexandria, LA on August 23, 1929 to Nicholas & Minnie Bennett. She married Leon Sanders in Clovis, NM on November 17, 1951. She worked as a nurse in Baton Rouge, LA and was a member of Eastern Star & the Amaranth Masonic family. Mae was an Ellinwood resident since 1966 formerly of Texas and Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Mary L. Doze, and sister, Caroline Stewart.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Sanders, Ellinwood; grandchildren, Melissia Herren, Great Bend; Travis Doze (Kristin), Hoisington; great-grandchildren Deana & Olivia Edwards and Sam Doze.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday January 12th at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. There will be visitation on Monday January 11th from 3-7 PM also at Minnis Chapel, Ellinwood.
