Lois Jeanette (Woolery) Hammersmith

 Olathe, KS Lois Jeanette Hammersmith, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 21, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 8, 1958 to parents Ted & Betty (Malcomb) Woolery in Marysville, CA. Lois was a 30 year resident of Olathe, KS formerly of Ellinwood and Ness City, KS. Lois was an employee of Cintas Company. She married Steve Hammersmith on Dec. 29, 1979 in Kansas City, KS. Steve and Lois were blessed with 40 years together where they loved traveling, spending time with family, & cheering for the Royals and Chiefs. Survivors include husband, Steve Hammersmith, Olathe, KS; daughter, Liberty Calangelo (Sid), Joplin, MO ; grandsons, Christopher Williams , Kansas City, KS and (US Navy) FCA2 Bryan Williams (Courtney Wheeler), Norfolk, VA; Brothers, Ted, ( Kelly) Woolery, Citrus Heights, CA, Ed (Charlotte) Woolery, Tuolumne, CA; Sisters, Laura (Ernie) Clay Redding, CA., and Lola Moore, Shasta Lake, CA. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Stephen (Little Steve) Hammersmith (1981). Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, December 28th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood, KS with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will precede the service at the church from 9-11 AM.
