Kent A. Knop

Kent A. Knop, 78, passed away on April 3rd, 2017 at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood, KS. He was born in Great Bend, KS on September 3rd, 1938 to Alvin Carl and Mary Gretchen (Isern) Knop. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1956 and later married Rose Cregger at St. John’s Lutheran Church on February 12th, 1961. He proudly served his country for 8 years in the Army National Guard as a part of the 130th Artillery Division. Mr. Knop was a farmer, rancher, and dairyman from a very young age, later he continued to farm as well as working jobs in the oil field and construction. Memberships include St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood and the Ark Valley Muzzleloaders Association. 
Survivors include wife, Rose Knop, Ellinwood, KS; son, Jeff & Patty Knop, Collyer, KS; daughter, Stephanie & Michael Moos, Ellinwood, KS; brother, Don & Janice Knop, Ellinwood, KS; sister, Susan Kowitz, Hutchinson, KS; and grandchildren, Karly & Adam Snyder, Nicole & Logan Jansonius, and Devin & Derek Moos.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday April 6th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with Rev. Tom Thierfelder officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood on Wednesday April 5th from 1-7 PM with family receiving friends from 5-7 PM.
