Juanita Faye “Bobbi” Shultz, 84, passed away suddenly in Great Bend, KS on August 29, 2023. Born in Raymond, KS on December 29,1938, she was the daughter of Clarence & Dora (Hughbanks) Messick. As a longtime Raymond resident, she graduated High School in Raymond and worked at the Jr. High School for 25+ years as a cook. She married Darrell Lee Shultz on March 17, 1957 at Raymond Baptist Church. They moved into her dream home in Ellinwood, in 2012. Bobbi was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church and Auxiliary. She always enjoyed a good card game. Bobbi was the best dressed mom/grandma around, especially dressing special on the holidays and having shoes for every occasion. She had a love for gnomes around the house and decorative chickens. She was a big supporter of the booster club. She loved watching her favorite sports teams; Chiefs, Jayhawks, Shockers and Royals while drinking a cold Coors Light with her four legged companion Pumper in her lap.
Survivors include son, James (Valerie) Shultz Chase, KS, daughters, Christi (Bruce) Thomson, Raymond, KS and Sheri (Ronnie) Hoover, El Dorado, KS, sister, Kay (John) Fore; grandchildren, Tiffany (Bobby) Webb, Tenelle (Brent) Nuest, Shawnda Wood, Jeremy Wood (Sierra), Dane Wood (Brinna), Jacob (Lyndsey) Hoover, Jaci (Ryan) Wolfe and 21 beloved great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Darrell; and brothers Jack & Bud Messick.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM, Sat., Sept. 2, 2023 at Raymond Hilltop Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Reazin officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion Post 320-Ellinwood. Visitation will take place Friday Sept. 1, 2023 Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, 11AM-7PM, with family present 5-7PM. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood Hospital Foundation in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
