Joyce Luetta (Dellinger) Burress, 81, of Ellinwood, KS, died May 2, 2020 at Ellinwood Country living. Born on April 9, 1939 in Zenda, KS she was the daughter of Claude and Ida (Boldt) Dellinger of Chase, KS. Joyce graduated from Chase high school in 1957 and later married Glen Burress on November 22, 1959 at the Presbyterian Church in Chase, KS. Joyce was an Ellinwood resident since 2002 formerly of Texas, Wyoming, and California. Glen and Joyce operated U Pump It in Great Bend and Joyce was an active member of the Chase Alumni. She also worked laundry at CKMC Hospital in Great Bend.
Survivors include husband, Glen Burress; son, Robert Dean Burress children, Seth Burress and Sharon Burress; daughters, Treva Ann Paden, children, Jake Schepmann, Heather Nicolet, Jerry (Emily) Schepman, & Kristen (Mike) Wondra, and Nick Schepmann, and Rhonda (Terry) Thurman, children, Shelby (Pedro) Garza, Stephanie (Johnny) Jenkins, & Courtney; and sisters, Claudia Dellinger and Billye Dellinger. Other survivors include 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parent and siblings, Virgil (Geri) Dellinger, Lucille (Lenord) Studer, Faye (Chief) Sanders, Ruby (Lee) Dumas, Chrystabelle (Dale) Harmon, Steve Dellinger, Dwight Dellinger.
Due to current gathering restrictions a private family service will take place with interment at Chase Cemetery. Public visitation will be 12-5 PM, Wednesday, May 6th and Friday, May 8th from 4-7 PM at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, KS. Memorials are suggested to Chase Alumni or the family in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526. Condolences may be left at www.minnischapel.org
