John Calvin Rapp

John Calvin Rapp, 92, passed away in Hemet, CA on August 18, 2016. He was born in Kinsley, KS on February 3, 1924 to Harry & Lena (Hildenbrand) Rapp. He graduated from Kinsley High School in 1942. He later married Rosanna Edler also in Kinsley. John was an Ellinwood resident for 47 years formerly of Kinsley. He worked at Hedrick Lumber and later the city of Ellinwood for more than 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion, and VFW. He also served in the Marine Corp from 1941-1945 during WWII.

Survivors include Wife, Rosanna Rapp, Hemet, CA; Sons, Steven (Sheryl) Rapp, Hemet, CA, Ronald Rapp, Ellinwood, KS; Daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Weber, Richmond, MO, Donna (Steve) Howell, Sun Lakes, AZ, Lois (Neil) Bishop, Hollywood, MD; as well as 7 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a Grandson, Adam Stubbs.

 Cremation has taken place and a memorial service with military honors will be held in Ellinwood at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church, Ellinwood, in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
