Janice Louise Wolfkill, age 63, died Feb. 15, 2014 at Ellinwood District Hospital. She was born Jan 20, 1951 in Hays, KS, the daughter of Eugene and Thecla (Graf) Hammersmith. An Ellinwood resident since 1977, she was a secretary at HI-LA Engine and manager of the VFW. She loved donating her time through her work with the “Retired Senior Volunteer Program”. Survivors include son, Stephen Christopher (Elizabeth) Wolfkill, Livingston, La; daughters, Sheila Wolfkill , Ellinwood, Ks, Heather Wolfkill, Ellinwood, Ks; brothers, Stephen (Louise) Hammersmith, Olathe, Ks, Eugene “Junior” (Sandi) Hammersmith, Ellinwood, Ks, Kenneth (Mary) Hammersmith, Biloxi, Ms, Terry (Alice) Hammersmith, Hernando, Ms; sister, Pat (Leasil) Orndoff, Ellinwood, Ks; 8 granchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by sister Barbara Guzman, her parents, and longtime companion Robert Hood. A private memorial service is pending.
