Great Bend, KS
Gordon Eugene Bitter, 63, passed away in Great Bend, KS on Nov. 3rd, 2022. Born in Lacrosse, KS on May 22, 1959 he was the son of Charles L. & Mary K. (Younger) Bitter. Gordon grew up in Bison, KS later graduating from Great Bend High School. He loved music and spent countless hours and batteries listening to his cassette player and stereo. His favorite saying was “don’t worry be happy.” Gordon enjoyed his time in the Special Olympics. A special thanks goes out to all Gordon’s extended family of staff members at Pathways in Great Bend for their exceptional care.
Survivors include mother, Mary “Katie” Bitter; brother, “C.W.” Bitter (Virginia); nephew, Michael Bitter; niece, Mary Doyle (Ryan); and 2 great-nieces all residing in Ellinwood, KS. He was preceded in death by father, Charles L. Bitter.
Cremation will take place and private family services will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to The Special Olympics/ Kans for Kids in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
