George Robert Kasselman, 84, arrived safely in the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2016 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood, KS. He was born in rural Ellinwood on February 20, 1932 to John & Bertha (Churchill) Kasselman. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1950 and later served 4 years in the US Navy where he was aboard the U.S.S Onslow during the Korean War. He married Marilyn Davis on May 20, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Ellinwood. George was a Great Bend resident for 34 years and previously an Ellinwood resident for 50 years where he was an oil field worker for LD Drilling Co. for 40 years. His memberships include First Baptist Church, Fellowship of Faith Church in Great Bend, the VFW, and the American Legion. He was a very humble, honest, and hardworking man who was easy to talk to and get along with and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include wife of 60 years, Marilyn Kasselman, Great Bend, KS; son, Mike Kasselman (Patti) Great Bend, KS; daughters, Debbie Perry (Bart), Denison, TX, Brenda Musgrove (Steve), Great Bend, KS, Sandy Reavis (Keith), Great Bend, KS; grandchildren, Luke Musgrove (Abbie), Brock Kohls, Jodi Grove (Hendrick), Jeff Reavis (Andrea), Breanna Gibson (Robert), Sarah Reavis, Sydney Perry, Amber Lucchesi (Nick), Kacee Kasselman; great-grandchildren, Harper Reavis, Haisley Reavis, and Hayden Klug.

He was preceded in death by his parents John & Bertha Kasselman; four brothers, Leo, Leonard, Edward and Richard Kasselman and a sister, Irene Metzger.

Funeral service will be Friday October 14 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church south of Ellinwood with Pastor Arlyn Thielenhaus officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm on Thursday October 13th with family present from 6-8 pm at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Fellowship of Faith Church, or Woodhaven Care Center in care of Minnis Chapel, 113 N. Main St. Ellinwood, KS 67526.
