Fred E. Troyer, 80, went to be with Jesus on Sunday May 3, 2015 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital. He was born on November 11^th, 1934 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Jerry W. and Mattie Troyer. On November 22, 1954 he married Karen L. Shumway at Pratt, KS. He is survived by his wife Karen, 3 sons, Bradly and Rachel (Kroulik) Troyer of Osborne, KS, Jeff and Annette (Richardson) Troyer, Ellinwood, KS, and Matthew and Tammy (Steiner) Troyer of Ellinwood, KS. Grandchildren Cescha and Jeff Hoffman, Pratt, KS., Kalesha & Adam Weseloh, Haviland, KS, Bryan Tickle, Coffeyville, KS Nathan Troyer, Osborne, KS, Shawn Troyer, Manhattan, KS, Stephanie Troyer, Manhatten, KS, Haley Troyer, Ellinwood, KS, Kiley Troyer, Ellinwood, KS, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Randy and parents Jerry and Mattie Troyer, brothers John, Mose, Will, Ora. Fred was co-owner of Ellinwood Packing Plant since 1977. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, antiques, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday May 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with Pastor Dale Kauffman presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. There will be visitation at Minnis Chapel from 3-8 PM on Thursday May 7 with family receiving friends from 6-8.
