Edwin Leroy Stoppel, 86, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood, KS on November 21, 2014.  He was born June 16, 1928 in Wilson, KS to Chris & Clara (Hilgenberg) Stoppel. Edwin worked as a carpenter for most of his life helping to build skyscrapers and other buildings all throughout Colorado. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elva (Clark) Stoppel; brothers, Adam Stoppel, Carl Stoppel; sister, Maria Funk; son, Ronald Wood; daughter, Linda Wood; and grandchild, Rick Wells.

Survivors include sister, Elsie Rude; sons, Michael Brewer, Ellinwood, KS Richard Brewer, Castle Rock, CO; daughters, Debbie Sheldon, Ellinwood, KS, Rebecca Smith, Ellinwood, KS, Christi Maes, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Troy & David Wood, LeeAnn Tullis, Megan Peterson, Marissa Brewer, Terri Rhyne, David Wells, Orlie Hoover, Jeff Smith, Kelli Sena, Jennifer Wortham, Tim Maes, Brian Maes and Trevor Maes, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

 Funeral Services are planned for Friday November 28 at 10:30 A.M at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, KS with Pastor Curt Reinhardt presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday November 26 from 5:00- 7:00 P.M. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, KS.
