Dortha Helen (Moses) Miller, 96, passed away on January 30, 2018 at Lubbock, Texas. She was born February 8, 1921, the daughter of Otis A and Rettie Moses at Dighton, Kansas. Dortha was a Registered Nurse until she retired at the age of 81 years old. On May 16, 1943 she married Lawrence Raymond Miller at Pomona, California. They were married 58 years. They had four children, 3 sons and 1 daughter, Daniel Ray, Donna Jean, Robert Paul and Steven Randall miller.

Dortha lived in Louisiana while Lawrence (Dick) was in the Army during WWII. After the early years in California, Kansas, Missouri, Canada and they lived the rest of their lives in Texas.

Survivors include, daughter Donna Jean (Miller) Hessman, Hutchinson, KS; son Steven Randall Miller, Lubbock, TX; daughter-in-law Linda Miller, Dodge City, KS. Grandchildren: Tracy (JW) Carnes, Adrian, TX; Kristin (Doug) Valeri, Webster, MA; Ryan (Randa) Hessman, Lawrence, KS; Matthew (Jacque) Miller, Lyndon, KS; Shay (Angela) Mueller, Ellsworth, KS; Britta (Michael) Clark, Dodge City, KS; Cassandra (Jeremy) Alder, Portage, IN; Wesley (Shayna) Miller, LaCrosse, IN; Eric (Courtney) Miller, Kouts, IN; Austin Miller, Portage, IN. Great Grandchildren: Morgan (Coe) May, Adrian, TX; Collin Clark, Dodge City, KS; Kenna Miller, Topeka, KS; Grady Mueller, Ellsworth, KS; Trae Phillips, Grand Junction, CO; Tanner Carnes, Adrian, TX; Chase Mueller, Ellsworth, Ks; Toby and Daxten Miller, Lyndon, KS; Reuben and Phoebe Hessman, Lawrence, KS; Daniel and Trinity Alder, Portage, IN; Beau and Scout Miller, LaCrosse, IN. Great Great Grandchildren: Kannen and Raylea May, Adrian, TX. Other survivors include nephews: Don Moses, Ray Moses, Clinton Moses and nieces Virginia Meier, Ruthie Ann Clayton. Sheri and Mark Maxwell, Marcia Sauber, Colleen Ward, David Sauber.

Dortha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Daniel Ray Miller and Robert Paul Miller; son-in-law Ronald (Rock) Hessman and two brothers: Curley Moses, Virl Moses and sister Georgia Crowley, brother-in-law, Joseph Miller, sister-in-law, Regina Sauber, nephews Wayne Moses, niece Cathy Sanders and grandson, Danny Miller Jr and many other nieces and nephews and friends. She loved her family.

Per her request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Kansas.
