DeSales (Saley) Schartz Feist, 88, passed away in Ellinwood, KS on Jan. 28, 2022. Born on Dec. 26, 1933 in rural Great Bend, KS she was the daughter of Nicholas and Aileen (Kimpler) Schartz. Saley was an Ellinwood resident since 1957 graduating from High School in Great Bend and later marrying Linus Feist on May 4th, 1957 in Great Bend, KS at St. Rose Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar society, Ellinwood. 

Survivors include children; Jean (Joe) Simmons, Larned, KS, Luke Feist, Great Bend, KS, Ann Feist Christiansen, Ellinwood, KS; grandchildren, Kelsee Hauser, Lauren Feist, Laken Blair, Jayce Christiansen, Jaxon Christiansen, and Bradyn Christiansen; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Hauser, Emmy Hauser, Camdyn Blair, and Uriel Feist. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings; Kenneth Schartz, Vernon Schartz, Norbert Schartz, Gerald Schartz, Charles Schartz, Loren Schartz, Celesta Bennett, Mary Bowes, Leon Schartz, Thomas Schartz, & Patrick Schartz. 

Mass of Christian burial will be Fri., Feb. 4th 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood, KS with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery. Visitation will be Thurs., Feb. 3rd from 1-7 PM with parish Rosary at 3 PM and Vigil Service starting at 7 PM that evening (Thurs) at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas for adoption program in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
