Clyde Steven Ricker

After a long illness, Clyde Steven Ricker, 70, who was residing at Chisholm Place Assisted Living in Wichita, KS went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 26th, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Clyde was born on May 16th, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Leonard C. & Mildred C. Ricker (Koenig). He graduated from Alden High School in 1966 where he met his high school sweetheart Kathy Cross. They united in marriage on August 10th, 1968 in Ellinwood, KS. Clyde attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration graduating in 1970. Clyde was a lifetime resident of rural Raymond where he worked as a farmer, seed salesman, & businessman. In addition, he was President and a board member of Bushton Grain and was on the Board of Directors at Lyons State Bank.  He was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood where he actively held positions such as church treasurer, elder, & trustee.

Survivors include wife, Kathy Ricker, rural Raymond, KS; son, Mark (Amy) Ricker, rural Raymond, KS; brother, Ronald (Nancy) Ricker, rural Raymond, KS; daughter-in-law, Kristen Ricker, Overland Park, KS. Other survivors include his grandchildren; Collin, Logan, Emma, Devin, Anna, Mason, Ruby, & Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ryan Ricker.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 31st at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with Rev. Thomas Thierfelder officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30th at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood from 7-8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
