Billy Alden Littrel

Billy Alden Littrel, 79, passed away in Great Bend, KS on August 8, 2018. Born on January 18, 1939 in Concordia, KS, he was the son of Willis Alden & Vilura Mavis Littrel (Lance). He went to Ellinwood High School and then married Sherry Ann VanSteenburgh at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood on September 13, 1957. Mr. Littrel also served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960. Later he drove a truck for MCA Mail Contractors of America retiring in 2008. He was a Great Bend resident since 2006 and former Dodge City resident for 42 years. He was a loving family man in addition to being very creative in his workshop where he loved creating and tinkering.

Survivors include wife of 61 years, Sherry Ann Littrel, Ellinwood, KS; sons, Dudley Eugene Littrel, Ellinwood, KS and Shawn Edward Littrel, Newton, KS; daughter, Tina Marie Branscom, Turon, KS; brother, Robert Littrel, Moore, OK; 13 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren.   

Funeral service and military honors will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Cavalry Baptist Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Visitation will be that morning (Saturday) at the church from 8 am-11 am. Memorials are suggested as Donor’s Choice in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
