Billy Max Oglesbee, 80, passed away at his home in Ellinwood, KS on July 17, 2019. Billy was born on May 8, 1939 in Hutchinson, KS to parents LeRoy & Effa Agnes “Ted” Oglesbee. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1957 later marrying Lela Hendricks on December 24, 1959. After graduating he served in the US Navy from 1959-1963. Formerly of Raymond Mr. Oglesbee was a resident of Ellinwood since 1971. He attended Raymond Baptist Church and was owner and operator of Ellinwood Tank Service.
Survivors include siblings, Roya Zimmerman, Bob Oglesbee, and Bruce Oglesbee; daughter, Julie Oglesbee Parker; son, Gary Oglesbee; grandchildren, Ashley Alefs and Kyle Oglesbee; and great-grandchildren, Raegan Alefs and one on the way. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Oglesbee and Donald Oglesbee.
Graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22nd at Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond, KS. Memorials are suggested to “Kans for Kids” or Quivira Wildlife Refuge “Kid’s Fishing Pond” in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
