Barbara L. (Koch) Hoar

Barbara L. (Koch) Hoar, 74, passed away at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center on May 17, 2016. Born in Great Bend, KS on July 31, 1941 she was the daughter of Harry & Bernice (Parker) Koch. She married Barton Hoar on May 7, 1961 at the First Baptist Church, Ellinwood. She was an Air Force wife that made her home in many places but was a former resident of Ellinwood for 26 years. She later moved to Great Bend for another 7 years where she worked as the church secretary of Central Baptist Church and was an active member. She also enjoyed oil painting and spending time with grandchildren.    

Survivors include husband, Barton Hoar, Great Bend, KS; daughters, Crystal Worm (John), Wichita, KS, Cheryl Sciandra, Denver, CO, Brenda McCulley (Karl), Great Bend, KS, Diane McReynolds, Ellinwood, KS; son, Darryl Hoar (Karen), Osborne, KS; brothers, Marvin Koch, Ellinwood, KS, Ron Koch, Great Bend, KS; sisters, Gloria Roberts (Richard) Hutchinson, KS, Twila Bartels (Tom), Olathe, KS. Other survivors include 11 dearly loved grandchildren.

Funeral service will be on Friday May 20th, 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church in Great Bend with Rev. John Grummon & Rev. Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be on Thursday May 19th, from 1-8 PM with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood.
