Allen Edward Schartz

Allen Edward Schartz, 71, passed away on April 11, 2016 in Ellinwood, KS. He was born to Werner and Charlotte (Harmon) Schartz on March 12, 1945. Allen was a lifetime Ellinwood resident graduating from Ellinwood High School in 1963 and was a Veteran of Vietnam. His memberships included the American Legion and the VFW.

Survivors include sons, Curtis & wife Candace Schartz and children Xander and Kenzie, Grove, OK, and Kory Schartz and son Henry, Lee’s Summit, MO; a brother, Clayton & wife Janet Schartz, Chandler, AZ.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Straub, and brothers, Raymond “Junior” Schartz, Max Schartz, and Dennis Schartz

Funeral service will be on Saturday Apr. 16, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be on Friday Apr. 15, from 1-6 PM with family receiving friends from 4-6 PM at Minnis Chapel. Altar society will pray Rosary at 3 PM also Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Legion Scholarship fund or American Legion project fund in care of Minnis Chapel, 113 North Main, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
