Rosie Evelyn (Stubby) Reiser Martens, 99, passed away at Family Health & Rehab in Wichita, KS on October 10, 2018. Born on April 30, 1919 in Lustre, Montana, she was the daughter of Otto & Sarah Alice (Funk) Stubby. She married Henry Martens on August 15, 1937 in Lehigh, KS. He passed away on September 24, 1992. Rosie married Junior Reiser November 21, 1997 in Ellinwood, KS. He passed away in August 27, 2007.
Rosie was a 62 year resident of Ellinwood but lived in Wichita for the past 9 years. She was a member of the Cavalry Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Union, and the Southern Baptist Convention. Her loves were for family and teaching of God’s grace and peace glorifying God with entertaining music, followed by home gardening, canning and sewing. Rosie did not demand attention but we sure wanted to give it to her as we were fed peace and understanding from her quiet loving soul!
Survivors include son, Dennis Martens and adopted daughter, Diane (Stubby) Steward; 6 loving grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Henry and Junior; daughter, Judy (Martens) Frank; adopted son, Richard Stubby; sisters Pearl and Elma; and brothers Alan and Mayo.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 20th at the Cavalry Baptist Church in Ellinwood, KS with Pastor Jason Winget presiding. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS. Visitation will be that morning from 9-11 AM at the church.
