Lorraine Margaret Petz

Lorraine M. Petz, 96, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood, Kansas on September 23, 2017.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin and Margaret Petz; a sister, Laverna Herdt, 4 brothers, Elmer, Frank, Edward and Ray Petz.  She is survived by one brother, Robert Petz, of Ardmore, Oklahoma as well as many caring nieces and nephews.
Born in Ellinwood, Ks to Edwin and Margaret (Klepper) Petz on May 23, 1921, she was a lifetime resident of Ellinwood, Kansas.  She worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney; and as a waitress at numerous restaurants in Ellinwood and Great Bend.  She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society, VFW Auxiliary, and the Heritage Club of Ellinwood.  Lorraine loved to dance and was an avid card and bingo player.
 A visitation will be  Friday October 13th from 12-3 PM at Minnis Chapel with a vigil service and rosary held Sunday, October 15th at 7 P.M. both at the Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood.  A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood, on Monday, October 16th at 10 A.M. with Father Terrance Klein officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwod.
