Jimmy Dale Wornkey

Jimmy Dale Wornkey, 83, passed away November 25, 2017, surrounded by his family at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Visitation will be from 1-5 pm Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, Kansas.  Funeral service will be at 10:30am Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellinwood, Kansas with Father Terrance Klein officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.
Jim was born August 10, 1934 in Caney, Kansas.  He married Theresa Apel on April 9, 1953.  He is survived by his 5 children, sons Mark (Debbie) Wornkey, Horsham, PA., Brian (Christie) Wornkey, Newcastle, WY, Chris (Luann) Wornkey, Hutchinson, KS,  daughters Kim(Gary) VanDusen, Wichita, KS, and Leah Beale, Wichita, KS, brothers, Don (Marlene) Wornkey, St John, KS, Jerry Wornkey, Ellinwood, KS, Tom (Chris) Wornkey, Ellinwood, KS, Steve (Becky) Wornkey, Great Bend, KS, Tim (Pam) Wornkey, Ellinwood, KS, Sister Pam (Junior) Nowak, Holcomb, KS; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great-great children.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; parents, Roy and Maxine Wornkey; son-in-law, Art Beale; Sister-in-law, Sally Sigley and Gladis Apel; and brother-in-law Harry Apel.
