Darlene B. (Standlee) Honomichl

Darlene Bertha (Standlee) Honomichl, 82, went to be with the Lord on October 3rd, 2017 at Great Bend Health & Rehab in Great Bend, KS after a longtime battle with Alzheimers. Darlene was born on April 17th, 1935 in McPherson, KS the daughter of Dave & Clara Standlee. Darlene graduated from Russell High School in 1953, and married Adolph J. Honomichl on March 10, 1956. Darlene’s life work was as an oil field secretary and bookkeeper. Along with working she raised three children and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Clara; two brothers R.D. and Kenneth Standlee, and a daughter, Linda DeBusk. Survivors include husband, A.J. of Great Bend Health & Rehab; one son, Steven (Angela) Honomichl of Poplar Bluff, MO; one daughter, Karen (Chuck) Bookout of Ellinwood, KS; 10 grandchildren, and her beloved great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 7th at Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Jason Winget officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood from 6:30-8:30 PM on Friday, October 6th. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 35, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
