Donna Mae (Brack) Schadel

Donna Mae (Brack) Schadel, 90, was born Sept. 27, 1933. She departed this life on Feb. 3, 2024. She graduated from Alexander HS in 1951 where she met her life long love. She attended Salina Business College and completed the 4 year Bible study at Menninger, Topeka. She married Dale Schadel Nov. 18, 1953 at Alexander Lutheran Church. Dale passed away Sept. 2, 2022. They had 3 children; Dalonna Chavez and husband Hank who passed away 10/13/23, Joplin MO, Stanley Schadel who passed away 2/1/21 leaving wife Lynda Schadel; and Russell Schadel, Ellinwood, KS. Additional survivors include sister, Alice Brozek, Great Bend, KS. Her siblings that preceded her in death are Vernon Brack, Bill Brack, Norman Brack, Lloyd Brack, and sister, Ruth Irvin. Donna had 3 grandchildren; Jamie Raven, Shawnee, KS, Jesse Chavez, Carthage, MO, and Amanda Chavez, Joplin, MO. Donna also had 11 great-grandchildren.  Other survivors include many beloved nephews and nieces.  Donna had many careers. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked making drapery. She was also a cook at Ellinwood HS until retirement. Many were gifted quilts, blankets, and Christmas decor. She will be missed by many. 
Funeral service will take place at Ellinwood Community Church on Thurs., February 8th 1:00 PM with Pastor Thomas Reazin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested towards Ellinwood Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, Po Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526. Condolences may be left at www.minnischapel.org
