Wesley Powell Balun

Wesley Powell Balun, 41, passed away in Ellinwood, KS on July 3rd, 2017. He was born September 2nd, 1975 in Great Bend, KS to John & Cheri (Hartenbower) Balun. Wes was an Ellinwood resident for most of his life where he graduated from High School in 1994. He later went on to receive his associates degree in Theology from McPherson College. Wes was a member of the My Country 93.5 Radio team in LaCrosse where he worked as a D.J. He was also known throughout both the LaCrosse and Ellinwood areas for his work with the local sports teams and will be missed by many in both communities. 

Survivors include sister, Farra Mourning and brother in-law, Darren Talley, Wichita, KS. Other survivors include niece, Jasmine Lamarche; 2 nephews, Simon Mourning and Nathan Talley; and great nephew, Liam Sing. Wes was preceded in death by his parents. 

 Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 8th at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with Pastor Mark Sizemore officiating.
